Step 1
Map out your walk the day before. Having an idea of where you will walk helps in sticking to your walking program. There is an office park area near my house that I walk around. I sight see by looking in the window at the people working. You may have a nice lake or a park area to walk around.

Step 2
Dress comfortably with loose fitting clothes. I found a pair of yoga pants from Old Navy and they feel great when I walk. I couple them with a nice big T-shirt and my sneakers and I am gone.

Step 3
Walk with a buddy for company and encouragement. My buddies are my two teenage daughters. We motivate each other to get up a little earlier and get our walk in. This is also my way to have some quality talk time with them and to teach them how important it is to take care of their body. If they see their mom doing it then it will be instilled in them to pass on to their children.
