Heres a technique used to set the memory buffer in mozilla firefox under their advanced configuration page.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • 2 Minutes
  1. Step 1
    Type about:config in the address bar then press enter key
     
    Type about:config in the address bar then press enter key

    Open Mozilla Firefox, click in your address bar and type in the following text, then hit enter

    You will get a goofy warning about voiding your warranty and there will be an " I'll be careful, I promise" button. Please click that button to continue.

  3. Step 3
    Creating a new integer by right clicking in the preference name field...

    "Right-click" the first line in the preference name column and click "New", then click "Integer"

  4. Step 4
    Pop up asking for preference name...

    You will now get a pop up box asking for you to enter in the preference name.... one you have confirmed this box, proceed to the next step for the value to enter.

  5. Step 5
    Type  browser.cache.memory.capacity  then click OK button
     
    Type browser.cache.memory.capacity then click OK button

    In the preference name field, type the following, then click the "Ok" button:

    browser.cache.memory.capacity

  6. Step 6
    Type  16384  in the next box that pops up and then click OK
     
    Type 16384 in the next box that pops up and then click OK

    Now you will get another box asking you for further input. This time you will type in the following, then click the "Ok" button:

    16384

  7. Step 7
    Confirming your memory adjustment setting.. then restart firefox to apply changes...

    Confirm your setting that was added. It should be highlighted... then close ALL firefox windows and reopen to apply the new setting..
