How to Prepare Residents for the CREOG and Written OB/GYN Board Exam
When pursuing a job in the medical field, particularly in obstetrics and gynecology, you must complete medical school and a residency program to become licensed. In addition to your schooling and residency, you must also pass several written exams, including the written Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG) test. The CREOG is a crucial element in becoming a doctor in this particular field. Therefore, it is important to prepare yourself for it to get the best results.

1
Study your books and exams from your medical school days to keep the information fresh in your mind. Practicing medicine in your residency is different from the book knowledge required to pass the written CREOG test. Review the questions on the exams you have already taken, because much of the same material is present on the CREOG test.

2
Use the online study guides to prepare yourself for the CREOG test. These study guides provide you with access to practice tests and other information important for the test. Exam Pro, America's OB/GYN Board Review Course, and the American Institute of MCQ's all have programs available.

3
Take as many practice tests as possible to prepare you for the skills needed for test taking, as well as the knowledge required for the test. Even if you retake the same test a week or two apart, you can still enhance your test-taking skills.
-
4
Talk to other doctors who have already taken the CREOG exam. Personal experience can be beneficial to your success for the test. Ask questions about what information is included on the exam, and for any tips that can make taking the exam less stressful.
