It's summer and time to break out the mosquito repellent. Those pesky mosquitoes always seem to be hungry and sucking your blood really hits the spot. The problem is the itchiness it the resulting bite causes you.

Before going out on your next hiking expedition try make this natural mosquito spray. It doesn't contain the toxic chemical you can find in the store bought stuff. It will not only keep the mosquitoes away but will help keep you bite free so you can enjoy the great outdoors.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup vodka
  • 8 drops citronella essential oil
  • spray bottle
  • funnel
  1. Step 1

    Stick the funnel in the next of your spray bottle so your can pour the liquids for your mosquito repellent in without spilling them.

  2. Step 2

    Pour 1/2 cup of vodka into the bottle.

  3. Step 3

    Pour 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar into the bottle.

  4. Step 4

    Remove the funnel from the bottle neck.

  5. Step 5

    Add 8 drops of citronella essential oil to the bottle. Citronella oil is known as an insect repellent. I'm sure you've burned citronella candles before to help get mosquitoes away at a barbeque.

  6. Step 6

    Screw on the lid.

  7. Step 7

    Shake well to mix. Now you've made your own nontoxic natural mosquito repellent.

Tips & Warnings
  • Spray your homemade mosquito repellent on just like you would store bought bug spray.
  • Don't use citronella essential oil directly on the skin without diluting it first.
