Gemini loves social interaction, especially the quick-moving kind

Gemini is a "fun" child to raise, so long as you are willing to play or provide play for your little Air Sign. Extremely energetic and curious, baby Gemini will display curiosity from the crib; growing Gemini will display it daily. This is the 3rd in a series about parenting with Astrology as a Guide.

Things You'll Need:

  • An Astrology guide to Gemini
  • A calendar to note family and extra-curricular dates
  • A stack of books, along with some blank paper and pencils so Gemini can read and write.
  1. Step 1

The Gemini child, born May 22-June 22, is both a child of Spring and of Summer. You can celebrate both these outdoor seasons with your outdoor child. The first step to parenting a Gemini is to offer him/her all sorts of opportunities to explore the world - starting with daily stroller walks through the neighborhood - and extending to growing Gemini's camp experiences.

  2. Step 2

Step #2 is to provide opportunities for Gemini to both learn and to talk about what s/he has learned. Gemini is "the Sign of the Communicator" so providing communicating opportunities is vital for this energetic child. Gemini needs outlets for both his/her mind and body energies, and providing energy outlets will be one of your key tasks as a parent.

  3. Step 3

Step# 3 is to offer Gemini some spontaneous and out-of-the-ordinary family experiences. Gemini loves surprises - so a Surprise birthday party is an example. Travel is a great way for Gemini to learn and explore and also experience some unusual adventures. Encourage Gemini to write about this (at the appropriate age), because Gemini is naturally good at writing.

  4. Step 4

Gemini has tons of nervous energy, so helping your young child discharge this excess energy will be vital to your job as parent. Gemini does not calm easily, so you will want to provide some quiet-time or peaceful space in your home where Gemini can wind-down before sleeping. As Gemini grows, you can introduce him/her to meditation or encourage physical exercise, such as running or biking. These are exercises Gemini is likely to take with him/her into adulthood.

Tips & Warnings
  • Gemini does not like to sit still, but s/he does love to read a book. If you need quiet time for your self, pile a stack of books and put Gemini next to them. Gemini will eagerly plow through each and every one.
  • Gemini is a social child, with lots of friends who may change frequently, because Gemini is also fickle. Provide lots of opportunities for Gemini to socialize, beginning with play group when Gemini is very young.
  • Gemini may be prone to smoking or drugs to calm his/her nerves, if s/he has not learned healthy calming exercises.
  • Gemini's mercurial emotions may lead to many relationships with the opposite sex, before Gemini is ready to settle down.
