      For gargles made of herbal tinctures, add one part herbal tincture to five parts clean water.

      For gargles made of herbal teas, add two tsp. dried tea to one cup water.

      For gargles made of herbal decoction, add one part decoction to one part water.

    • 4

      For gargles made of herbal vinegar, add one part vinegar to four parts water.

    • 5

      Gargle with any one of the above preparations four or more times daily as long as the condition persists.

  • According to professional herbalist Non Shaw, sage tea is particularly good for mouth health. A pinch of salt provides a soothing element to herbal gargles.
