Use Feta Cheese

Feta cheese is a white, Greek cheese that is traditionally made of sheep's milk. It is a soft cheese that crumbles easily, but it can also be served in a block. Here are five ways to get the most use out of the cheese.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Tossed salad with oil-based or vinaigrette dressing Grilled vegetables Basil, 1 small bunch Sundried tomatoes, 1 4 oz. jar Feta cheese, 1 4 oz. block, crumbled Marinated artichokes, 1 6 oz. jar Greek yogurt, 4 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil, 3 tbsp Crackers Blender Hamburger Pita pocket Sandwich toppings

    How to Use Feta Cheese

  1. Step 1

Use as a salad topping. Sprinkle a small amount of feta cheese into a tossed garden salad to add more flavor. Using an oil-based or vinaigrette salad dressing will accentuate the flavor of the feta cheese and not cover it up, as a cream dressing may do.

  2. Step 2

Top a plate of grilled vegetables with feta cheese. You can serve this with steak.

  3. Step 3

Make Mediterranean feta cheese dip. Blend a small bunch of basil, a jar of sundried tomatoes, feta cheese, artichoke hearts, Greek yogurt and extra virgin olive oil in a blender. Process the mixture until it reaches a smooth consistency and serve it with crackers.

  4. Step 4

Serve it with a hamburger. Replace the usual cheddar or mozzarella cheese with a handful of crumbled feta.

  5. Step 5

Stuff a pita. When filling a pita pocket with your favorite sandwich fixings, add extra flavor by crumbling feta cheese to the top.
