How to Customize Candy Wrappers
Customize candy wrappers as fun party favors for your child's class parties or as small thoughtful gifts for co-workers in your office. These cute candy wrappers can be made with most any pre-wrapped candy and they are a great way to use up those scraps of decorative papers you just could not throw away. The following candy wrapper instructions can be altered to fit most any holiday or occasion. Customize your candy wrappers with stamps, buttons, charms and miscellaneous ephemera to make a one-of-a-kind gift.
Things You'll Need
- Hershey candy bar, 1.55 ounce Scrapbook papers, blue, red and tan Ruler Scissors Paper trimmer Double stick tape Craft glue 4 flat red buttons Silver sequins Black chipboard letters, assorted sizes Raffia

Cut a rectangle 5 1/2 inches wide by 6 inches long using the blue scrapbook paper and a paper trimmer. Cut another rectangle 4 3/4 inches wide by 6 inches long using the red scrapbook paper. Place double stick tape to the back of the red rectangle. Center the red rectangle on top of the blue rectangle. Wrap the 6 inch length of the layered rectangles around the Hershey candy bar. Insert double stick tape between the overlap to hold.

Cut a rectangle 2 inches wide by 4 1/4 inches long from the blue scrapbook paper. Place double stick tape to the back of the rectangle. Center the rectangle on the front of the candy bar to adhere.

Cut 5 pieces from the tan scrapbook paper 1 inch square. Place double stick tape to the back of each square. Starting in the center of the blue rectangle centered on top of the candy bar, position one square angled on end. Repeat with the remaining squares, overlapping a 1/2 inch. Place two squares on each side of the center square.

Choose an assortment of chipboard letter sizes to spell "AMERICA." Apply a thin coat of craft glue to the back of the letters and affix them to the front of the candy bar wrapper to customize. Dot a dab of craft glue to each corner of the top blue rectangle and set a red button on each dot of glue. Tie strands of raffia into a knot. Trim the ends so that the raffia knot measures 2 inches. Repeat for a total of 4 knots. Glue the knots to the centers of each button. Dot a dab of craft glue in 6 random spots on the front surface of the candy bar. Allow the glue to dry.
