A network bridge on a Windows XP system allows more than one computer to connect to each other over the same network. This connection enables the computers to communicate by sending and receiving files over a network, as well as connecting to the Internet using the same shared network. Network bridging at times makes the connections unsecure, and in other instances, causes network speeds to decline. Removing the network bridge is a very simple task that takes minutes to complete.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Click the Windows "Start" button, and click the "Control Panel."

  2. Step 2

Double-click "Network Connections." This will show the network bridge connections and other connections on your computer system.

  3. Step 3

Right-click the "Network Bridge" and click "Delete."

  4. Step 4

Click "Yes" to confirm and remove the network bridge.
