How to Cleanse the Liver With Fruits

A liver cleanse is not an easy process. The finished product, however, is a healthier and happier body. If you have a congested liver, your immune system cannot function at it's peak. Disease and illness are more common, along with acne. Congestion is caused by overly processed, fatty foods, and packaged meals with preservatives. The chemicals sit in your body, recirculating over and over again. Learn how to cleanse your liver with fruits to rid your body of these toxins.

Instructions

    • 1

Drink a cup of apple juice every three hours for five days. This is not actually part of the cleanse, but it will ensure that the regiment works properly. Make sure the apple juice is organic, so as not to exacerbate the liver congestion.

    • 2

Eat a nonfat breakfast on the sixth day. Fruit, egg whites or nonfat cereal work well. Avoid meat, as even lean meat contains fat.

    • 3

Combine 3 cups of water water with 4 tbsp. of Epsom salt early in the afternoon. Put it in the refrigerator so it will be cold when you drink it. In the early evening, drink 3/4 cup of the mixture.

    • 4

Repeat the previous step two hours later. These steps don't actually cleanse your liver, but they will help you eliminate toxins quickly. Prepare for diarrhea in the following days.

    • 5

Squeeze an entire grapefruit and mix the juice with 1/2 cup of virgin olive oil. Mix quickly or shake the liquid if you can close the lid. Drink the entire mixture fairly quickly, two hours after you complete step 4. Try and finish the drink in five minutes for optimal performance.

    • 6

Lay on your right side immediately. Bring your right knee up to your chest and lie in that position for at least 20 minutes. Since this part is done late at night, it's best to simply sleep. You don't want to move around or do anything during your liver cleanse, otherwise it won't work correctly.

    • 7

Drink another 3/4 cup of the Epsom salt mixture when you wake up in the morning. Two hours later, repeat this step for the fourth time. Once you take the last dose, wait two more hours before the liver cleanse is over and you can eat and drink again.

Tips & Warnings

  • To make the most of your liver cleanse, do a colon cleanse first.

  • Refrain from eating or drinking in the early afternoon on the sixth day after the apple juice.
