Things You'll Need:
- Grout Commercial grout cleaner Grout saw Damp cloth Grout float Squeegee or grout sponge Grout sealer
-
Step 1
If you have an existing color that you need to use, take a small piece to the store with you. Use sand grout if the space between the tile is larger than 1/8 of an inch.
-
Step 2
Clean the grout with a commercial grout cleaner and allow to dry. Use the grout saw to break up cracked grout and wipe up the debris. Using a damp cloth, moisten the spaces where the grout is going to be applied.
-
Step 3
Mix the grout specified on the bottle's directions. Apply the grout to the empty spaces with the grout float. Go over the space with the squeegee or sponge to remove grout on the tiles.
-
Step 4
Let the grout dry based on the manufacture directions. Check to see if the grout has shrunk from drying, if so, apply more grout.
-
Step 5
Seal the groat with grout sealant, then wipe off excess sealant with a damp cloth after it has dried.
