Instructions

      Pour sesame oil into a saucepan.

      Place two small drops of water into the pan of oil.

      Heat over a low flame until the drops of water begin to crackle and the temperature reaches about 210 degrees F. You want to bring the oil to a slow simmer.

      Remove the pan from the burner, and allow the oil to cool.

      Transfer the oil into a nonmetallic, nonplastic container for storage or immediate use.

Tips & Warnings

  • Never leave oil cooking on the stove unsupervised. Keep children away from the heating oil, and be careful not to stand too close to the pan when the water in the oil begins to pop.
