You may have never had the opportunity in high school or college to take a Turkish language class. Buying Turkish lesson books or audio lessons can get expensive. As an alternative, you might consider using the Internet to learn Turkish. Using online tutorials lets you learn Turkish lesson by lesson. These four websites can help you learn the basics of the Turkish language, such as the alphabet. You can also use these resources to make yourself familiar with common Turkish phrases.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Visit the Turkish 101 website: 101languages.net/turkish. Scroll down the homepage to learn a little bit about the Turkish language, such as where Turkish is spoken throughout the world. Then, click on the links on the left side of the page to learn the basics of the Turkish language, such as the Turkish alphabet. The links are separated into four categories and can help you learn Turkish vocabulary, grammar and phrases.

  2. Step 2

Another place to learn Turkish online is the Turkish Language Class at turkishclass.com. The Turkish Language Class lists Turkish lessons created and added by users of the website. Lessons are added as they are created. Click the "Turkish Lessons" link on the left of the homepage to find these lessons and be sure to check back periodically to find recently added lessons. Click the "Turkish Class" link on the left of the homepage as you get a little more familiar with the Turkish language. This link will take you to Turkish language quizzes that will let you see how far you've come and help you further your education.

  3. Step 3

Or, use Totally Turkish at totally-turkish.com to learn Turkish online for free. Like the Turkish Language Class, Totally Turkish separates the lesson links into categories. Begin by clicking the "Basic Turkish" links and work your way down, clicking the rest of the links found on the website. You can also find information such as Turkish phrases and even Turkish slang by clicking the links in the "Useful Information" box on the right side of the homepage.

  4. Step 4

A fourth option is to log onto the Online Turkish website at onlineturkish.com. Online Turkish sells a Turkish language course but also offers free lessons on the website. Click the "Free Trial Lessons" link on the left side of the page to find a list of free lessons. Then, click on the lesson link on the next page to review that particular lesson. You can also click the "Turkish Alphabet" link on the left side of the page to review the Turkish alphabet. This Web page includes audio files that will allow you to hear how each letter is pronounced.
