Things You'll Need:
- Bluetooth adapter Computer with USB 2.0 port Bluetooth printer
-
Step 1
Find a USB 2.0 port on your computer. If you have a newer computer, it is very likely that all of your USB ports follow the 2.0 protocol, but if you have a computer manufactured before 2005, you should check your owner's manual to find where your computer's USB 2.0 ports are.
-
Step 2
Plug the Bluetooth adapter into your computer's USB 2.0 port. Once this is done, you will see a window pop up on your desktop, indicating that new hardware has been found. Ignore this notification.
-
Step 3
Install the software that came with the adapter. If it was bundled with the printer, then it is most likely contained on the same CD as the printer driver software. If not, then it will have its own CD. Once the program has finished installing, restart the computer.
-
Step 4
Open the program you just installed, and then put the adapter into "discovery" or "sync" mode. Then put the printer into the same mode. This is where your computer and the printer will establish a connection. Once a connection has been formed, you should see a notification pop up from your Bluetooth management protocol. Once this message appears, your Bluetooth printer adapter has been installed and you can print wirelessly with ease.
