How to Add Bluetooth to a Laptop

Bluetooth wireless technology can be used to connect devices such as keyboards and mouses to computers. You can connect Bluetooth devices to a desktop or laptop computer wirelessly if the computer has the hardware and software needed to support Bluetooth connections. If your computer does not have Bluetooth capabilities built in, you can add Bluetooth wireless connectivity to a laptop or desktop by installing a Bluetooth wireless USB adapter and its software.

• Product installation CD USB Bluetooth adapter

1. Place the installation CD in the CD drive of your laptop. Click the "Run" icon on the Start menu to open a Run window if the installation wizard does not start automatically. Type the following in the "Open" text box in the Run window, replacing "letter" with the actual letter of your CD drive:
   letter:autorun.exe
   This will start the installation and setup wizard.

2. Follow the wizard prompts. The prompts will vary depending on the particular manufacturer of your USB Bluetooth adapter.

3. Plug the USB adapter into an available USB port when prompted. The wizard will guide you through the process of installing the driver for the USB adapter as well as the USB device management software. Close the wizard when it is finished.

4. Configure the USB device management software according to the manufacturer's directions. When the software has been configured, your laptop will be ready to use with USB devices.
