How to Prevent Aging Wrinkles
Your skin is composed of three layers: epidermis, dermis and subcutaneous. The dermis layer has elastin, which is composed of fibers and keeps your skin firm and resilient. The dermis also contains collagen, which your skin needs to prevent wrinkles. When the dermis looses elastin and collagen, your skin becomes thinner. Fat in your subcutaneous layer looses its plumpness, causing the epidermis to sag. Noticeable aging wrinkles are the result. Contributing factors such as spending too much time in the sun or cigarette smoking can cause premature aging wrinkles. With proper care, however, you can help keep your skin looking youthful. 1
Use sunscreen to protect your face. Limit the amount of time you spend in the sun. Ultraviolet light is the main one cause of aging of the skin, reports MayoClinic.com. Use a facial sunscreen that protects against both UVA and UVB rays when you go outdoors. Select a sunscreen with SPF15 or higher.

2
Clean your skin using a facial cleanser. This sloughs off dead skin cells and keeps your face from looking dull.

Moisturize daily. If you're skin is dry, lines and wrinkles will eventually begin to appear. Daily moisturizers can help prevent damage to your skin and keep the cells hydrated and plump.

4
Adjust your diet. Incorporating foods containing vitamins A, C, B3 and E may help protect your skin from wrinkles. Examples of foods containing these nutrients include red berries, kale, apricots, peaches, avocados and fish.
