Among its many features, Microsoft Outlook has calendar functions that allow for the scheduling of appointments, reminders and alarms. Sometimes a user may inadvertently create a duplicate appointment and need to correct the situation. Follow a few simple steps to access the appointment in question and remove it from Outlook.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Open Microsoft Outlook and type "CTRL" + "2" on your keyboard. The calendar navigation pane will appear.

  2. Step 2

Use your mouse to select one of the tabs labeled "Day," "Week" or "Month" that are located along the top of the window. Try them all, and then select the one that gives you the view of the calendar for which you can most easily access the duplicate appointment.

  3. Step 3

Use your mouse to double-click on the date on which you have the duplicate appointment. A window with the specific appointments for that date will appear.

  4. Step 4

Using your mouse, choose the duplicate appointment that you wish to remove by double-clicking on it.

  5. Step 5

Press the "X" button near the top of the appointment window (see the graphic). Confirm that you want to delete the appointment when prompted, and you are finished.

Tips & Warnings
  • Clicking "View" at the top of the Calendar navigation pane will provide a drop-down list of options that will allow you to customize the look of Outlook to fit your preferences.
