  • 1 Honey crisp apple 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 1 tablespoon sugar Vanilla ice cream 1 medium winter squash 3 Honey crisp apples 1 large onion 1 cup apple cider 5 cups chicken or vegetable stock 1/2 teaspoon dried Rosemary 3 tablespoons butter 1 cup whipping cream 1 teaspoon curry powder 1 teaspoon cardamom 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 1/2 pound sausage 1 pie crust 1 tablespoon butter 1 Honey crisp apple 2 egg yolks 1 egg 1 cup heavy cream 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese 6 Honey crisp apples 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup apple cider 1 tablespoon champagne vinegar

      Baked Apple

      Treat family and friends to a dessert that is simple, delicious, and nutritious. Prepare a Baked Apple by coring a Honey crisp apple, filling the hole with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar, and baking at 350 F for 25 minutes. Serve with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream if you like.
      Multiply the recipe to serve the desired number of people.

      Squash Apple Soup

      Take the chill off an autumn day with a warm bowl of Squash Apple Soup.
      Pierce the squash and bake at 425 F for 1 hour.
      Peel and chop the onion and cook it with butter, in a large pot, over a low heat. Add cider, stock, and spices.
      Peel, core, and dice the apples and add to the mixture. Simmer the mixture for 30 minutes.
      Cut the squash in half and remove its seeds. Continue simmering while you mix in the cooked squash.
      Let the soup cool and puree it until smooth.
      Reheat, stirring in the whipping cream. Serve warm, topped with a spoon of sour cream and a fresh rosemary garnish if you like.

      Bake a Sausage Apple Pie when you want a hot, hardy meal.
      Preheat your oven to 350 F while cooking the sausage over medium heat. Drain the sausage and place it in the bottom of a prepared pie crust.
      Peel, core, and dice the apples, and cook with butter until they begin to soften.
      Layer the apples atop the sausage and spread the cheese over the apples.
      In a small mixing bowl, stir together the eggs and cream with a dash of salt, and pour that mixture over all three layers.
      Bake for 50 to 60 minutes until firm. Serve warm.

      Top your favorite breads with Apple Jam.
      Peel, core, and dice six Honey crisp apples and place in a heavy 3 quart saucepan. Add sugar, cider, and vinegar and cook over medium heat until apples begin breaking down.
      Lower the heat and continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens. This should take approximately 45 minutes.
      Apple jam is especially tasty on a blue cheese-filled crepe.
