It might only take 15 frames-per-second (FPS) for the human eye to see motion, but that doesn't mean you can't try to get the most out of your game. In "Counter-Strike: Source," you can toggle an FPS counter to see how well your hardware is displaying the game.

Net Graph

Tap the tilde key (~) to open up the console while in-game. You have a few options for displaying your current FPS. Entering "net_graph 1" shows your network usage, including an FPS counter. With "net_graphpos 2," you can move this chart's position over to keep it on-screen while running all over Dust.

Optimization Command

If you don't want an entire graph, enter "cl_showfps x" into the console, where "x" is either "1" or "2." Typing "1" shows you real-time FPS, while "2" shows an average from the previous second. To disable any of these, enter the command again in the console, replacing the number with "0" instead.
