Step 1
Determine which Nioxin scalp and hair treatment is best for your specific hair type. Nioxin makes eight treatment lines, Systems 1 through System 8. Each treatment system includes a cleanser, scalp therapy conditioner and leave-in hair treatment. There are systems for fine natural hair, coarse chemically enhanced hair and more. To determine the Nioxin treatment line that is best for you, complete the quiz at Nioxin's website (see link in Resources).

Step 2
Purchase the appropriate Nioxin Treatment System. You can buy the three-piece system at professional salons. To locate a salon that carries Nioxin, use the product locator at the Nioxin website (see link for resources). You can also purchase Nioxin from online vendors, including Amazon and Folica.

Step 3
Put a quarter size amount of Nioxin Cleanser shampoo on your hair and scalp. Let it sit on the hair for 2 minutes, and then rinse thoroughly.

Apply a quarter size amount of the Nioxin Scalp Therapy conditioner to wet hair. Apply gently to the full scalp and hair, but do not massage. Leave it on for 1 to 3 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.

Step 5
Towel dry the hair and run a small amount of Nioxin Treatment into the hair from the roots down the full length of the hair. Style hair as usual.

Use the three-step Nioxin system; Nioxin Cleanser, Nioxin Scalp Therapy and Nioxin Treatment on a daily basis.
