Making a child's bubble toy out of a recycled water bottle is a great way to reuse household items and teach the kids a new craft project. You might already have all the items for this project around the house, except for a long spoon straw, but that takes only a quick trip to any mini-mart that has an Icee machine. You'll have fun making this, and it'll keep the kids busy during summer vacation.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Scissors Play-Doh Glue Plastic spoon straw Bubble mixture
  1. Step 1

Unscrew the cap on the water bottle. Cover the inside of the cap with glue.

  2. Step 2

Take a small lump of Play-Doh and form it into a ball. Flatten it slightly. Stick it into the cap, on top of the glue. The Play-Doh should take up only the top third of the cap.

  3. Step 3

Take your spoon straw and cut it to fit lengthwise in the bottle. The spoon should end about an inch from the bottom of the bottle. Fold the spoon section in half and cut out the center. When you unfold the spoon, it should look like a bubble wand.

  4. Step 4

Stick the top end of the spoon straw into the center of the Play-Doh cap. Allow it to dry.

  5. Step 5

Fill the water bottle with bubble mixture. Stick the wand in your homemade bubbler and enjoy blowing bubbles.
