How to Create an Instant Reply Message

Instant Messaging has become extremely popular over the past several years. With the convenience of text messaging, yet no service charges, Instant Messaging is one of the most widely used forms of communication. However, sometimes you are logged on but have to be away from the computer for a few moments. You don't want people trying to talk to you because you won't be able to respond. It's best to create an Instant Reply Message, so they know what you're doing and when you'll be back.

Create an Instant Reply Message on AIM

1. Log in to AIM.

2. Select "Edit" from the toolbar.

3. Click "Edit Away Messages."

4. Type your message in the "Type Message" window. You can also title your message.

5. Click "Apply" and your new Instant Reply Message will be used as your away message.

Create an Instant Reply Message in Yahoo Messenger

1. Open Yahoo Messenger.

2. Log in to your account.

3. Click "Status Chooser" at the top of Yahoo Messenger.

4. Select "New Status Message."

5. Type your desired message and click "OK." Your message will now be used as a status and Instant Reply Message.
