Step 1
Become an author. Provided your Sim is suitably creative, doesn’t mind spending large amounts of time indoors (perfect for Sims who Hate The Outdoors) and likes using computers, being a novelist can be a very lucrative career. Your Sim will earn weekly royalties for each book they write, for up to six weeks per book. Provided you can write enough, your Sim can make an excellent living as an author.
-
Step 2
Start a Garden. With practice, your Sim can be planting tomatoes, apples and all manner of plants in no time at all. If you tend them well, your plants can grow up to be big, strong and very valuable. Sell them for some quick cash, or eat them instead of what’s in your fridge. Read some books on gardening to boost your skill level. This helps yield more valuable crops.
-
Step 3
Go fishing. As with gardening, a little practice and a little know-how can yield not only a good spot to fish in, but some great big fish. Again, you can either sell the fish you catch or eat them yourself to save on grocery bills. Make sure you read up on fishing before you go to get the most out of your fishing trip.
-
Step 4
Keep an eye out for Opportunities. If you become skilled or famous enough, Opportunities will crop up for you. They are an excellent change to show off your skills to other Sims, in addition to earning some decent cash.
-
Step 5
Teach a class. If your Sim is proficient enough in a certain area of expertise, they may be able to teach a class on it at the local community college. Think you’re good enough? Drop on by and give a lecture.
-
Step 6
Go a Thieving. Your Sims can, if all else fails, take up petty crime to pay the bills. This works best for Kleptomaniac Sims, as they will want to do this naturally. If it’s not bolted to the ground, it’s fair game!
-
Step 7
Hack! Your Sim, should they be suitably Logic-minded and not opposed to a life of cyber-crime, can Hack a few Simoleans into their account every day. Keep it up, and you can put away a tidy little sum.
