Things You'll Need:
- Safety Gates
- Dog Toys
- Dog Treats
- Cat Toys
- Cat Treats
- Pet Food
-
Step 1
Keep your pet indoors, perhaps in the garage or a back bedroom.
-
Step 2
Keep candy out of pets' reach. Chocolate is not recommended as a treat for your pet. Shiny wrappers are a temptation to your feathered friends. Keep a pet treat for them and any of their friends that may come by.
-
Step 3
Keep lit candles away from pet areas. Not only are they a fire hazard, kitty's twitching tail could get singed.
-
Step 4
Avoid dressing your pets in costumes unless you know they really love it and it is very comfortable for them. Do not obstruct their vision. Obstructed vision might make them nervous.
-
Step 5
Keep your pet in a back room during the trick-or-treating part of the evening. Too many people and strange or loud noises can make even the friendliest pet nervous.
-
Step 6
Be careful when opening your door, so your pet does not dart out of the house.

on 11/22/2005 Do not let your pet outside, even if it is an outdoor pet. Something might happen - smashing pumpkins, soap, Silly String or anything else. Take this advice seriously.
