Smoothies are wonderful concoctions! Fruits and juices usually blended with either soy or dairy products are often both delicious and nutritious. I love fresh ripe cherries and lemonade in the summer and it occurred to me that these ingredients combined with some yogurt and Italian ice or sorbet might make an interesting smoothie. It did! Here's the recipe.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 12 ounces Lemonade
  • 2 scoops Lemon or Cherry Italian Ice or Sorbet
  • 1 cup fresh ripe cherries
  • 1 cup lemon or vanilla yogurt
  • Blender
  1. Step 1

Wash 1 cup of fresh ripe cherries, then remove pits and chop. Place the cherries in the freezer for 1 hour

  2. Step 2

Remove the cherries from the freezer after one hour and place in the blender container. Add the remaining ingredients: 12 oz' s of lemonade (1 1/2 cups),8oz of lemon or cherry yogurt, 2 heaping scoops of cherry or lemon Italian Ice or Sorbet, to the blender.

  3. Step 3

Use the grind setting on the blender for 3 pulses and then switch to the blend setting for about a minute or two. Be careful to keep your hand on the lid of the blender when mixing the drink.
The drink it ready to serve

Tips & Warnings
  • If you like thick smoothies then add only one cup of lemonade.
  • Be sure to follow the manufacturer's directions and safety tips when operating the blender.
