Things You'll Need:
- Melatonin
- Tea
-
Step 1
Things To Avoid
Avoid caffeine and alcohol . Caffeine and Alcohol are stimulants that will make it particularly hard to get a good nights sleep , especially if ingested near your bedtime . -
Step 2
Try Melatonin
One great remedy for curing Insomnia is with the use of Melatonin . Melatonin is a natural and safe supplement that is usually taken in pill form . Your body creates its own Melatonin , however sometimes you need an extra boost to aid you in sleeping . I have personally used Melatonin myself and can say that this stuff really works . One or two tablets should knock you out for the night .
Although taking Melatonin is completely safe you should avoid taking it every night . The reason for this is that you want your body to create its own Melatonin , so if you are taking Melatonin every night your body may create less Melatonin of its own , thus creating a dependency . -
Step 3
Exercise Regularly
Exercise . Exercising for 30 to 60 minutes before your bedtime will tire you out and get your body into "rest mode" . -
Step 4
Try Meditating
Sometimes the main cause for peoples insomnia is mental or emotional stress , such stress can be reduced or eliminated through meditation . Meditation has been used for centuries and has been shown to be very effective as a sleep aid . Meditation clears your mind of physical and emotional stress . You will find that once you clear your mind and eliminate racing thoughts , sleep will come much easier . -
Step 5
Tea
Drink Tea . There are teas that are made specifically for use as a sleep aid . One such tea is Celestial Seasons Sleeping Time Tea . Simply prepare 20 - 30 minutes before going to bed .
