Step 1
The first step to quit smoking cold turkey is to set a start date....or should I say end date! Thats right, you need an exact date. Sometime next week is not considered a date... July 18 2009 @ 12:00am is what we are looking for. Once you have a date you need to reach out for support when trying to quit smoking cold turkey.

Step 2
Tell your friends before you start what your date is. Most are willing to help. The ones that are not and encourage smoking....you should stay away from them for a while. Do it through a blast email, over the phone or in person. The important thing is that they know your trying to quit smoking cold turkey.

Step 3
Once you have started to quit smoking cold turkey you need to stay busy and avoid things you used to do that "required" a lot of cigarettes. Go for walks instead of watching tv, go to movies instead of bars. Think of every possible situation you were in and needed a cigarette and avoid those situations. You also need to get rid of all the smoking products (work, car, home...etc).

Now all it takes is time and dedication. After a few months you will start to realize there is a big difference in your life!
