Use Toothpaste on Pimples

Using toothpaste on pimples is by no means a new medical breakthrough but it can and does work for some people, but that doesn't mean you should be grabbing the nearest tube of toothpaste and smearing it across your face.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • White toothpaste
  • Clean washcloth
  • Mild cleanser
  • Clean towel
  1. Step 1

Wash your hands. Dirt and oil is the reason that pimples pop up anyways, so be sure your hands are clean before you come close to touching your face.

  2. Step 2

Run hot water over a washcloth and squeeze out the excess water and let it sit on your face. This will help to open your pores allowing the icky grime to make its way out.

  3. Step 3

Wash your face with a gentle cleanser and pat dry with a clean towel.

  4. Step 4

Dab toothpaste on your problem pimple. It's important that the toothpaste you're using doesn't contain a lot of flouride or whitening ingredients. Avoid gels and colored pastes because they will contain more ingredients that could be irritating to the skin.

  5. Step 5

Allow the toothpaste to dry and then wipe it off with a clean washcloth. Some people choose to leave it on overnight, others wash it off once it dries.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use only clean washcloths, towels and hands when you are washing or applying anything to your face.
  • If you have dry skin, wipe the toothpaste off after it has dried for a few minutes, otherwise it could cause your skin to feel more dry resulting in flakes and further irritation.
