Running, jogging or walking are great way to get exercise. It’s also a great way to be outdoors. Your success in starting a new running, jogging and walking programs relies heavily on your comfort, especially the comfort of your feet.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Buy the right shoes for the activity. Don’t just buy what looks nice. At the first signs of wear or discomfort, buy new shoes. You and your feet will be happy you did.

  2. Step 2

When buying shoes for running, walking or jogging have your feet measured. Buy the shoes to fit whichever foot is larger. Nobody’s two feet are exactly the same size. For the smaller foot add comfort insoles to take up the extra room.

  3. Step 3

When you buy the shoes, make sure you take a walk, jog or run around the store to see how they are going to feel while you are doing your activity.

  4. Step 4

When running, jogging or walking make sure you always wear clean dry cotton socks which are free of holes and wear. If your socks are worn out or wet you are much more likely to get blisters.

  5. Step 5

When running or jogging don’t run on hard surfaces such as concrete. The hard ground doesn’t give and puts quite a pounding on your feet, ankles and knees.

Tips & Warnings
  • Never exercise when you are in pain
