Things You'll Need:
- Bathing Suit
- Large T-Shirt
- Strong Fan
- Beach Towels
- Beach or Patio Chair
-
Step 1
Central Air ConditioningSet up the chair and the fan in a comfortable room. I used the living room, so I could watch TV while I was cooling off. Put the towels on the chair for sitting on later.
-
Step 2
Central Air ConditioningTurn on the fan and face it so that it is blowing, full force, in the direction of the chair. Test it out to make sure the flow of air is hitting you right.
-
Step 3
Central Air ConditioningPut on your bathing suit and the over-sized T-shirt
-
Step 4
Central Air ConditioningTake a COLD shower. You want to get yourself soaking wet with cold water.
-
Step 5
Central Air ConditioningGet out of the shower and go sit in the chair.
-
Step 6
Central Air ConditioningWatch TV, put on a movie, or read a good book, while you are cooling off. Sipping ice cold water or iced tea will cool you from the inside out. You will be amazed at how cool you will feel when you do this. Get wet again, if you dry off too much, and repeat as necessary.
-
Step 7
Go someplace that has central air conditioning, if you feel like getting out of the house. Spend a couple hours at the library, go see a movie, get an ice cream cone at the local mall. All of these places have central air conditioning AND readily available bathrooms...another necessity when you are pregnant.

on 6/24/2009 It's been many, many years, but I remember that summer heat with no a/c during pregnancy. Now we have spray bottles and it helps to spritz yourself down once in a while with ice water. We didn't have those back then.
