Installing a trailer hitch on a Dodge Caravan is completely different then installing a trailer hitch on a Chrysler Town and Country. So let’s get started, just follow the steps below to continue.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Get your vehicle up in the air. Jack up the rear of the vehicle and support it on jack stands.

  2. Step 2

On the frame of the vehicle are two bolts that will be used as the mounting bolts. Find those bolts.

  3. Step 3

Spray down the bolts with W.D. 40 and then remove them.

  4. Step 4

When you remove the back bolt, replace it with studs.

  5. Step 5

Now line up the hitch on the back of the van. Reinstall the mounting back bolts to the studs. Then reinstall the front bolts.

  6. Step 6

Now torque down the bolts. That’s it, you are done. This is only a guide. Be sure to read all instructions that came with the hitch. So go test out your new hitch.
