When doing heavy lifting it is good to lift properly. For example if you’re helping a friend move into a new house. You must load the rental truck with their coaches, beds, and many other heavy items. This way you can avoid unwanted medical bills for things like strains, back spasms, and many other problems. Here are some safe lifting techniques.

  • Common Sense
  1. Step 1

First, make sure there are no obstacles in your path. Make sure there is room to move around. This way you don’t trip and harm yourself. Check on how heavy the object that you are moving is. If it is too heavy it is better to have two people.

  2. Step 2

After that, get a firm grip on the object. Bend at your knees and use your leg muscles to lift. The will allow no tension on your back. When you lift do not turn at your waist and twist your back.

  3. Step 3

Then move the object to the designated spot. As you’re putting down the load don’t let go until its sst on the floor. If the item has to be slide across the ground try to push the load instead of pulling it. This way there is less strain on your back.

  4. Step 4
