Working With Templates
-
1
Open WordPerfect and go to the "File" menu. Choose the "New" command and decide whether you want to open a blank document or start with a template. If you're making a newsletter, greeting card, banner or another desktop publishing document and you're unfamiliar with working from scratch, consider opening one of the templates WordPerfect provides for those types of projects.
-
2
Modify your template to fit your needs. WordPerfect templates have generic text and graphics in place to illustrate each template. Select the generic text in the template, delete it and then replace it with your own text. You can keep the same font format or use the "Format" menu to change the font style, size and color to suit your needs.

3
Select any graphics in the template and either delete them or go to the "Insert" menu and choose "Picture." This will let you browse to the folder on your computer where you store your graphics. Select the image you want to use to replace the generic image in the WordPerfect template.
-
4
Save your document either as a WordPerfect document, a Microsoft Word document, a rich text document or even an Adobe PDF. Do this by going to the "File" menu and choosing the "Save As" command.

6
Format your font using the font menu. Select the font style you want to use, choose the size you want the font to be and set the color of the font from this dialogue box.

7
Use "Paragraph" settings to set your first line indent to 0.5 or 0.25 if you want the indent automatic when you hit the "Enter" key. Leave this setting as none if you want to indent using the "Tab" key. Choose your line spacing and text justification from this dialogue box as well.
