How to Turn on Java Player

Java Player, also referred to as Java or Java Script, is one component of a group of programs that enhance software for computers, gaming consoles, Blu-ray discs, cell phones, PDAs and similar devices. When you're exploring the Web, Java enhances the quality of the graphics that appear on your computer screen. Java allows Web pages to show videos and animation, and many of the gadgets that allow users to interact with websites, such as media players and gaming screens, use Java software.

  1. Internet Explorer (Versions 6, 7, and 8)

      Open Internet Explorer and click on "Tools" to make a drop-down menu appear.

      Run your mouse pointer over "Manage Add-ons."

      Select "Enable or Disable Add-ons."

      Click on "Java."

    • 5

      Choose "Enable" in the "Settings" section, and click on "OK" to enable Java.

    Earlier Editions of Internet Explorer

      Open Internet Explorer.

      Click on "Tools" and a drop-down menu will appear.

      Click on "Internet Options."

    • 9

      Click on the "Advanced" tab.

      Check every entry under "Java."

    Mozilla Firefox

      Open Firefox.

      Click on "Tools" and a drop-down menu will appear.

      Select the "Content" tab.

      Click on "Enable Java Script," and click on "OK."

      Click on "Tools" again.

      Click on "Add-ons."

      Click on "Plug-ins."

      Highlight each Java entry, and click "Enable" on each of them to turn on Java in Firefox
