Connect your DVI to VGA adapter to the graphics card by inserting the DVI side of the adapter into the graphics card and screwing in the mounting pins on the adapter.

Connect your monitor's VGA input plug to the VGA output side of the DVI to VGA adapter. Screw the VGA plug's attached mounting pins into the DVI to VGA adapter.

Tips & Warnings
If you are using a large resolution, such as 2560 x 1600, it will be necessary to obtain a dual-link DVI adapter. A single-link DVI adapter simply cannot handle the bandwidth needed for such a large resolution.
When connecting the adapter, do not force either connector too hard, as they should marry to each other easily. If you find the connectors are not merging easily, check whether you have them oriented correctly.
