Things You'll Need:
- chew toys!
-
Step 1
Stop your puppy from chewing by making your home safe.First off you want to "Puppy proof" your home- Yes, just like you would with a baby. Puppies are like babies, They are teething and the chewing feels very good on their teeth. Do not leave items you do not want ruined on the floor. Pick your shoes up. Do not leave loose electrical cords. Cover them or if you wont be around simply unplug them first then pull them up off the floor. Make it Puppy safe!
-
Step 2
Stop your puppy from chewing by purchasing CHEW TOYS!Buy your baby chew toys. Get a few of them so puppy has some things to chew on.
-
Step 3
Stop your puppy from chewing with excersize, and lack of boredumDo NOT keep puppies or dogs locked up all day. They need excersize and lots of play time. This alone, lessens the chance of them "getting into trouble!" A bored dog or puppy will look for things to do.
-
Step 4
Stop your puppy from chewing by saying NO, consistentlyIf you do see your puppy chewing on something he/she is not supposed to, FIRMLY SAY NO, stop. Then sit there near it, do not remove it right away, and make sure puppy doesn't chew again. If he does, say no and stop him again.
Good Luck! You can and will get your puppy to stop chewing!
