Things You'll Need:
- Photoshop CS2
-
Step 1
Download a new font onto your computer. There are many websites that offer free fonts, such as 1001 Free Fonts and Urban Fonts (see resources below). Most of these sites have a simple one-click download. Save the fonts someplace easy to find on your hard drive, such as your desktop.
-
Step 2
Go to the control panel on your computer. To get to the control panel, click on the "Start" button. Control panel will be one of the available options in the menu that comes up.
-
Step 3
Go to the fonts section. The "Fonts" section can be found under the "Display" or "Appearance and Personalization" category of the control panel. Just click on "Display" or "Appearance and Personalization" and then click on "Fonts." This will open the font folder.
-
Step 4
Click on the "File" menu and choose "Install new font..." When you click to "Install new font," it will open an installation window. The desktop will come up as the default folder, and the installation program will search for fonts automatically. If your font is not located on the desktop, you can browse for the correct folder under the "Folders" pane of the window. When you find the correct folder, the available fonts will populate into the main "List of fonts" window.
-
Step 5
Select the font that you would like to install and click "Install". If you would like to install all of the available fonts in a folder to your computer, click the "Select All" button and then "Install." The progress bar will monitor the installation of your selected fonts and inform you when installation is complete.
-
Step 6
Restart Photoshop. The newly installed font will now be available for use in the program.
