How to Use a DC Power Supply

DC (direct current) power supplies convert household electricity into a usable form for electronic appliances, such as computer monitors, gaming consoles and printers. The acronym "DC" signifies that the power supply changes electricity; in this case, AC (alternating current) into DC electricity. This is needed because many home electrical devices, especially computing devices, cannot use AC electricity. The use of a DC power supply is straightforward and requires little knowledge or skill to perform.

Instructions

1. Plug the outlet end of the DC power supply into the wall or surge protector outlet.

2. Connect the opposite end of the DC power supply into its respective device.

3. Ensure both ends of the power supply are engaged securely. Power on the device to test if the DC power supply is functioning correctly.

Tips & Warnings

• Ensure the cords of the DC power supply are out of the way and not a trip hazard.
