Scrapbooks are a way to capture precious memories and commemorate special events in people's lives. Each scrapbook is different and unique to its owner or owners. Moreover, scrapbooking is a versatile creative outlet. There is really no right or wrong way to create a scrapbook, and there are hundreds of ways that you can do so.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Photographs Blank scrapbook Decorations (stickers, ribbons, buttons, glitter) Scissors Construction paper Pens and markers Scrapbooking adhesives
  1. Step 1

Plan your scrapbook. Decide if you want to create a family-heritage scrapbook, a baby scrapbook, a pet scrapbook, a friends scrapbook or a free-form scrapbook.

  2. Step 2

Organize your photographs by sorting them according to date, event, and individual or scatter them however you wish. Put your photos in strict chronological order or devote one page to your maternal family and one to your paternal one.

  3. Step 3

Gather your decorations and sort them appropriately to the layout of each page. A page devoted to your grandmother who likes sewing and knitting might be decorated with ribbons, buttons and yarn.

  4. Step 4

Create any decorations that you may require. Use scissors, construction paper, and pens and markers to create custom decorations. Draw, color and cut out a beach ball to commemorate a summer vacation on the beach.

  5. Step 5

Lay your photographs and decorations on a blank scrapbooking page and adjust them according to how you would like them to appear. When you are satisfied with your design, affix them to the pages with scrapbooking adhesives.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use acid-free materials, such as acid-free construction paper and acid-free pens to ensure that your scrapbook withstands time.
  • Always plan out your page layout and where you want each decoration and photograph to appear before you affix anything to the page.
