The 3GP is a file format for the 3G cell phones. You can download movies and convert them to 3GP to play on your phone. MPEG4 or MP4 file format is a universal format. This file type can run on most media players. However, the 3G cell phones require the 3GP file type only. Thus, if you have a movie or family videos you want to play on your cell phone, you must convert MPEG4 to the 3GP file format. Acala 3GP Movies ($20 as of June 2009) and Video to 3GP Converter ($21.95 as of June 2009) (see Resources) can convert several file types, including MPEG4 to 3GP.
