How to Add a Screensaver to an iPod
Screensavers for the iPod are different from screensavers on computers. Typical computer screensavers include photos or graphic elements. An iPod screensaver shows a video file that is located on the iPod. Also, the iPod must be plugged into a power source in order for the screensaver to run.

2
Open iTunes on your computer. On a PC, if the icon for the application is not on your desktop, click on "Start" and find "iTunes" under "All Programs." On a Mac, the icon will be in the dock, which may be located either at the bottom of the screen or along the side.

Locate the video in iTunes that you want to make into your screensaver. Right-click on the file and choose "Copy" from the pop-up menu that appears. Use "Ctrl+V" to paste a copy of the file next to the original file. Rename the new file "Demo." Renaming the file will help to differentiate between the copy and the original.

4
Plug the iPod into the computer in order to sync to iTunes. After iTunes opens, click on the iPod icon and select the "Video" tab. Then click the "Sync" button.

5
Plug the iPod power cord into the wall and into the iPod. Do not touch anything for two minutes. After two minutes, the screensaver will appear. The screensaver will run on a continuous loop for as long as the iPod is left untouched and plugged into the power outlet.
