How to Do Fire Magic
The four elements of water, air, earth, and fire are the basis for all ancient magic. Fire represents passion, action, and renewal. In nature, fire may blaze through a forest but also be necessary for that forest's long-term survival. Fire-related rituals for blessing and clearing are still in use in many cultures and religions of the world, including Judaism and Hinduism, as well as among Native Americans. Regardless of whether you believe in magic, the symbolic destruction of what you no longer want to be a part of your life can be a powerful psychological exercise.

Fire Magic Burning Ritual
-
6
Understand and design your fire magic ritual. The fire magic ritual is designed to clear away whatever you no longer feel serves you in your life. You may want to let go of a relationship, a job, or bad childhood memories. To do this, gather items that are symbolic of what you want to release and burn them with the intention of removing them permanently from your life.
-
7
Gather your symbolic items to be burned. Your items to be burned may include photos, letters, or pay stubs. You can also write down everything you want to release and burn what you have written.
-
8
Say a prayer and set your intentions now and for the future. It is important to release what you do not want and invite new things you desire into your life.
-
9
Place your items in the fire. Burn your items in respectful silence; some prefer to do so to the sounds of chanting or drumming. Each individual participating should have his or her own separate time to burn and release his or her items.
-
10
If you are outside, douse your fire with a bucket of water. Depending on your location, other steps may be required to put out your fire appropriately (see resources for fire safety tips).
