How to Get Iraq GI Bracelets

Thousands of U.S. troops have been deployed to Iraq or other hot spots across the globe. While our military personnel fight battles on the war front, their families fight economic battles at home. Often it is the main bread winner who is sent to war, leaving behind a family to struggle with a worsening economic situation. If these military personnel make it home, they may be disabled and unable to continue in former occupations. Purchasing a G.I. Memorial Bracelet is one way to remember those who have been killed in action (KIA), are missing in action (MIA), or were disabled in the Iraq war and other military conflicts, as well as to help their families.

  1. Steps to Order

    • 1

Copy and paste the following link into your browser: http://www.memorialbracelets.com/index.php
The steps to order the bracelet are computer directed at the site.

    • 2

Select from one of the following categories to choose your message:

      Customized
      Victim of Terrorism
      Killed in Action
      Prisoner of War
      Missing In Action
      Supportive Message

Each of these sections has suggestions for the engraved message to be placed on the bracelet. There are more than 100 messages from which to choose. Plus, you can design your own statement. It is at this stage that the lists of persons affected by the Iraq war or by terrorism are chosen to be engraved on the bracelet.

Select your style of bracelet. Bracelets are available in a 1970's POW cuff-style bracelet; they are also available in a style that resembles a medic alert bracelet. Bracelets are available in stainless steel, aluminum, and leather, so make your selection accordingly. Dog tags are also available if that is your preference.

    • 4

Choose your size, style of lettering, and color. The aluminum bracelets are available in black, red, blue, and gold. Additional icons or symbols can be added to the bracelet at this step for an additional price. Price varies with style chosen.

Complete the checkout information. If ordering online, a credit card can be used. Mailing instructions are included on the site if you prefer to use a check.

Tips & Warnings

  • Unless you have a particular person in mind when choosing a name to place on your bracelet, search by the all choice rather than alphabetically. It is quicker.

  • Do not purchase bracelets from auction sites. Unlike the Memorial Bracelet, auction sites do not funnel funds back to disabled freedom fighters or military families. A portion of all proceeds provide assistance to military causalities, military families, and individuals and families affected by terrorism.
