How to Make Spicy Chicken Nuggets
Spicy chicken nuggets are bite-size pieces of breaded chicken meat that are seasoned with a mouth-watering spice such as cayenne pepper. The resulting baked dish is a delicious finger food and can make an excellent appetizer at a party or even serve as a main course. Things You'll Need
- Baking sheet 3 mixing bowls Knife Oven Cooking spray 12 oz. (355 ml) skinless boneless chicken breasts 1/2 cup (118 ml) buttermilk 2 egg whites 1/4 cup (59 ml) flour 1/2 cup (118 ml) toasted bread crumbs 4 tbsp. hot sauce (e.g. Tabasco) 1 tbsp. cayenne pepper 1 tsp. pepper 1 tsp. salt

Turn on the oven and preheat to 400 degrees F. Spray the nonstick cooking spray on the baking sheet.

Mix the hot sauce with the buttermilk. Use a knife to cut the chicken breasts into pieces and soak the pieces in the spicy buttermilk mixture for half an hour to marinate.

Pour the flour into a bowl. In the second bowl, pour the egg whites. Mix the pepper, salt, cayenne pepper and bread crumbs in the third bowl.

Lift a piece of marinated chicken breast out of the spicy buttermilk. Dip it in the flour, then into the egg whites before dipping it a third time in the seasoned bread crumbs. The piece of chicken should be evenly coated in all three ingredient mixtures. Place on the baking sheet and repeat until all of the chicken breast pieces have been coated.

Put the pan in the oven and bake for 10 minutes or until one side is golden-brown. Flip the chicken nuggets and bake for an additional 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool before eating.

Tips & Warnings
Add more hot sauce to the buttermilk mixture to make it spicier. Use whole wheat flour and whole wheat bread crumbs for a more healthful chicken nugget.
