Use Cream of Mushroom Soup

Heating up a can of cream of mushroom soup lets you have a quick and hot lunch that costs very little. However, there are more ways to use this soup than just throwing it in a pan, such as making a casserole with it. Preparing dishes with cream of mushroom soup as one of the ingredients helps to give your food more improved flavor, without a strong mushroom taste. The next time you cook supper, consider using cream of mushroom soup in it.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 bag of tater tots Heavy skillet 2 lbs. ground beef 1 ½ cups of water 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. black pepper 2 cans cream of mushroom soup 9-inch cake pan Sliced American cheese
  1. Step 1

Preheat the oven at 350 degrees F. Empty the bag of tater tots onto a flat cookie sheet and place in the oven. Cook until the tater tots are golden brown and take out to cool.

  2. Step 2

Put the ground beef in the skillet and add ½ cup of water, salt and black pepper. Cook the beef on medium high until brown with no pink left in it. Stir often to make sure the beef doesn't stick to the bottom of the skillet and burn.

  3. Step 3

Drain the grease from the hamburger and set aside. Next, open the cans of cream of mushroom soup and pour into a pan. Add the water and stir to mix the soup up.

  4. Step 4

Heat the soup on medium high until hot. Getting the soup hot before adding to the other ingredients helps the casserole to cook faster.

  5. Step 5

Place the tater tots in the cake pan. You can make two layers of tater tots if you like more in the casserole. Next, lay the browned burger over the top of the tater tots, making sure the meat is distributed all over the pan.

  6. Step 6

Pour the hot cream of mushroom soup over the meat and tater tots. The soup will soak down to the bottom of the pan, moistening the bottom ingredients. Next, lay the sliced cheese on the top of the casserole, so that the entire surface is covered with cheese.

  7. Step 7

Take the casserole and put in the oven. Bake until the cheese is melted but not browned. Take from oven and set on counter to cool for 5 minutes before eating.

Tips & Warnings
  • Adding diced onion to the meat while it cooks will give your casserole more flavor.
