How to Make a Balloon Spider

This is an inexpensive way to decorate for your Halloween party, and each child can take a friendly spider home as a party favor.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Black Curling Ribbons
  • Scissors
  • Scissors
  • Address Address Labels
  • Adhesive Tape
  • Black Construction Paper
  • Adhesive Tape
  • String
  • Halloween Stickers
  • 2 round, black balloons
  1. Step 1

    Blow up two round black balloons. Make one balloon larger for the body.

  2. Step 2

    Tie the balloons together at the knotted ends with a piece of string.

  3. Step 3

    Cut eight 1-inch-wide strips of black construction paper.

  4. Step 4

    Fold the paper strips like an accordion.

  5. Step 5

    Tape them to the body of the spider at the sides.

  6. Step 6

    Use white address labels and stickers for the eyes.

  7. Step 7

    Tie a long piece of string or black curling ribbon to the head and body joint and hang your spider from the ceiling.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep balloons out of the reach of young children. They can swallow pieces of a balloon and choke.

on 11/22/2005 Fill the balloons with helium and either secure on a string sow they "float" or let them crawl on the celing.
