How to Use Dimethicone

Dimethicone is a topical skin cream used to treat dry, itchy and irritated skin. It is a prescription product and must be used exactly as directed by a doctor or pharmacist for best results and to diminish any possibility of adverse side effects.       Wash hands thoroughly before using the cream. Wash the area to be treated with gentle soap and warm water. Pat completely dry with a soft towel.

      Dispense the Dimethicone cream into your palm. Be sure to use the dosage recommended by your doctor. Talk to your doctor about appropriate dosage. Don't use more than the recommended amount.

      Rub the cream onto your skin in a circular motion. Make sure to cover the entire affected area with the cream.

  • Discontinue use and consult a physician if a rash, excessive dryness, redness, itching or irritation occurs from the use of this cream. Talk to your doctor before use if you have any known allergies to medicines or other substances. Do not use on severe burns, wounds or broken skin.
