Have you ever spent the afternoon at the beach, only to come home and love the way your hair looks afterwards? Ever wished you could recreate that style at home? You can - and it's simple and easy to do! In just 15 minutes, you can get a beach hair look without ever stepping foot in the sand. Here is how to get a beach hair look, using just a few simple styling products:

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Prep Your Hair

There is very little prep involved for this hairstyle. For best results, skip washing your hair for one day. If you absolutely have to wash your hair, run some styling lotion through your locks before you begin. Start at the scalp, and spread through evenly using your fingers to comb it in. Allow your hair to dry for a few minutes, and you're ready to go.

  2. Step 2

    Spritz With Sea Salt Spray

Separate your hair into 4 large sections, clipping back the other sections to keep them out of the way if necessary. Spritz the section from root to tip with sea salt spray (try Bumble & Bumble's Surf Spray, or make your own at home), until damp, then scrunch by twisting small sections of hair around your fingers and opening and closing them as you work from top to bottom. You may need to repeat scrunching a few times to get the results you want. Repeat these steps for each section of hair.

If you can't find the spray at your local beauty store, or you'd rather make your own, check out the article below to learn how to make your own sea salt spray:

  3. Step 3

    Finish and Dry

After scrunching each section, spritz your entire head with finishing spray. Then, set either a blow dryer with a cool setting or a diffuser to the lowest setting, and gently dry your hair. Flip your head over to dry underneath and give your hair some volume so it doesn't fall flat. Continue until your hair is almost completely dry.

  4. Step 4

    Set the Style

After diffusing or drying, spritz your hair both on top and underneath with a spritzing hairspray (not aerosol). Go for a brand with flexible hold - Tigi's Rockaholic Fun Times has excellent hold and is very light and flexible. After spraying, give your hair one more good scrunch all over to set it place. And that's all there is to get beach hair! Even with homemade sea salt spray, this style can last all day or all night with very little maintenance.
