How to Make Sea Salt Spray
The idea of using sea salt to create loose, sexy waves of hair can be traced back to the Jennifer Aniston "Rachel"-era in "Friends." Her stylist said she used ocean water to create Aniston's look. Sea salt sprays are commercially available now, but some cost as much as $65. A homemade version can cost a lot less and last for up to a year. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Empty spray bottle (spritz-style nozzle)
- 3 tbsp. sea salt
- 2 cups mineral or spring water

Put 2 cups of water in a small pot or saucepan over low heat. Remove it from the heat when it is close to boiling and let it cool for a minute or two.

Add the sea salt 1 tbsp. at a time to the water. Stir continuously to dissolve the salt completely. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature.

Pour the mixture into the empty spray bottle. Shake well, and the sea salt spray should be ready to use.

Tips & Warnings
Sea salt is available in most grocery stores. Epsom salt can be used as a substitute, but do not use regular table salt.
Add a drop of conditioner or argan oil to the water if your hair dries out easily. The sea salt will make it dry out even faster without the oil or conditioner.
