   Effects of influence matter!

   Be honest. An individual that is a "man of his word" is someone that people can trusted. Those you yield influence over will be more likely to be honest themselves when they see honesty in you. Don't make promises you will not be able to keep. People would rather be told "no" than to be let down later. Disappointed people are hard to influence positively.

2. Stand up for the underdog. Anyone can laugh with the crowd. It takes a person of strong character to stand up for the one being put down. Even as adults, we will face bullying. Be the one to stop it. The effects of your actions can reach farther than the room you are in.

3. Become an authority in your field of business. Be the one others come to for answers. Read books and articles. Take classes. Pay attention to the trends that affect your line of work or your organization. With the right information you can become a person of influence.

4. Take calculated risks. Be willing to try new things in your business and your life, but don't do it foolishly. Do your research and consider the chances for success. Don't let fear keep you from stepping out. Your influence over those around you will grow as you become more successful and your business will benefit.

5. Dress appropriately for every situation. Because your clothes effects the way people view you your influence can be destroyed by wearing the wrong clothing even if it isn't business-related. Give an honest assessment of what you have on before you step out of your own front door. Your authority and your influence are diminished if they cannot get past your clothing.
   
   The influence you wield will cause effects on other people, for good or for bad. To improve your business and your life, take thought to the influence you wield.
